Cameras

Three focal lengths, one aircraft

The 100 MP Hasselblad main camera sits on a 4/3 sensor, with 70 mm and 168 mm telephotos riding the same gimbal — frame wide at 28 mm, compress at 70 mm, reach at 168 mm, with no payload to swap. All three shoot 4K/60 HDR; the Hasselblad pushes to 6K/60 and around 16 stops of dynamic range, and every camera carries 10-bit D-Log for a consistent grade.

Flight & safety

Confident in the dark

Omnidirectional obstacle sensing keeps watch down to 0.1 lux — light too low for vision systems alone — and a forward-facing LiDAR picks out fine obstacles like wires, branches and buildings on a night return. With real-time vision positioning the aircraft remembers its flight path, so it can find its way home even after taking off somewhere without a satellite fix, such as a balcony.

Endurance & transmission

Longer in the air, further out

Up to 51 minutes of flight on a charge means fewer battery swaps across a day of shooting or survey work. O4+ transmission holds a 10-bit HDR live feed out to 30 km (FCC; 15 km under UK/SRRC rules), so the view stays clean at distance — and the Infinity Gimbal rotates a full 360° and tilts past the horizon for vertical and upward angles a fixed gimbal can not reach.

The triple-camera system

Wide, medium-tele, tele — same gimbal

Three focal lengths cover context, compression and reach without changing a thing in the air. Each is 10-bit D-Log capable for a matched grade.

Mavic 4 Pro — common questions

How does the Mavic 4 Pro improve on the Mavic 3 Pro?

The main gains are in the camera and sensing systems: a new-generation 4/3 Hasselblad shooting 100 MP stills and up to 6K/60 HDR video at around 16 stops of dynamic range, an upgraded 168 mm tele on a larger 1/1.5-inch sensor, omnidirectional night sensing down to 0.1 lux with a forward-facing LiDAR, and longer flight and transmission.

Which combo should I buy — Standard, Fly More or Creator?

Standard if you already own batteries and accessories or want a second body; Fly More if you fly full days and want three batteries, the charging hub and a bag; Creator if you need the 512 GB aircraft, the DJI RC Pro 2 and an ND filter set for professional delivery.

What's the difference between the DJI RC 2 and RC Pro 2?

The DJI RC 2 (Standard and Fly More) has a 5.5-inch 700-nit screen and suits most work. The DJI RC Pro 2 (Creator) steps up to a 7-inch high-bright Mini-LED screen, a faster processor, a built-in mic and HDMI out — useful for bright conditions and client-facing shoots.

What does the forward-facing LiDAR do?

It improves obstacle detection in very low light — below 0.1 lux, where vision sensing alone becomes unreliable — so the aircraft can still detect obstacles like buildings and wires and stop or climb over them on a night return. Keep the LiDAR window clean for accurate sensing.

What certification does the Mavic 4 Pro hold in the UK and Europe?

It is C2 certified by EASA. At 1,063 g it flies in the Open Category under transitional provisions; an A2 CofC lets you operate closer to uninvolved people. heliguy runs the A2 CofC course in-house and can support a move to the Specific Category for congested-area or BVLOS work.

Is the Mavic 4 Pro waterproof?

No. Avoid contact with water during use, as it may damage the aircraft. It pairs with the DJI Fly app, which you should install and use to activate the aircraft before first flight.

How does the parallel charging hub work?

Used with the DJI Mavic 240W power adapter, the hub fully charges one Intelligent Flight Battery in about 51 minutes, or three in parallel in about 90 minutes. Drawing on the batteries it can also act as a 100W power bank to fast-charge other devices.
