Drones on demand. Prepped, tested, on your doorstep.
Every aircraft in our rental fleet is serviced, firmware-checked and bench-tested by DJI-certified technicians before it leaves North Shields. Minimum one week, weekly extensions, same-day dispatch by 3pm.
Four steps. Most rentals out the door same day.

What you'll need to book.
Upload these when you reserve. All documents are stored securely in line with Cyber Essentials and never shared with third parties.
Photographic ID
A valid passport or photocard driving licence, matching the name and address on the booking. A clear photo or scan is fine.
Non-owned drone insurance
Third-party and hull cover valid for the rental period and the specific airframe. Not provided by heliguy.
Flyer ID & Operator ID
Current CAA-issued IDs. Screenshots accepted. Not required for non-drone kit such as RTK bases or scanners.
Recent utility bill
Dated within the last 90 days, confirming the delivery address. UK mainland only — no shared or HMO addresses.
Quick answers.
Online rentals must be confirmed at least 48 hours in advance. If you need something sooner, call us on 0191 296 1024 — we can often dispatch the same day if you call before 3pm.
Courier delivery is next-day to UK mainland. So worst case (online booking, next-day courier) is two working days from confirmation. Best case (phone before 3pm, next-day courier) is overnight.
One week. You can extend in weekly blocks subject to availability — most of our customers go 1, 2 or 4 weeks. Longer than 3 months and we'll do a custom quote with deeper discount.
For drone rentals: non-owned drone insurance, valid Flyer ID and Operator ID, proof of ID (passport or driving licence), and a recent utility bill matching your delivery address.
For non-drone equipment (RTK base, payload only, scanner, power station): non-owned insurance, and proof of ID and address.
All documents are stored securely and not shared with third parties, in line with Cyber Essentials.
It depends on the drone and where you plan to fly. Heliguy does not check your training credentials at booking — flying without the right authorisations is your responsibility under the rental terms.
For sub-250g aircraft (Mini 5 Pro), A2 CofC isn't usually required in the Open category. For enterprise platforms (M30T, M4T, M350), you'll almost certainly need A2 CofC or GVC depending on the operation.
Use our drone licence calculator if you're unsure.
Your insurance covers it. We'll quote the repair cost (or replacement cost where the airframe is total-loss), and you claim against your policy. Your insurance excess is what you'll pay out of pocket.
We don't add penalty fees on top of repair costs. The £99 deposit is held against minor accidents only — scratches, light damage from a hard landing, missing accessories — and is refunded if everything comes back as it left.
No, heliguy™ rentals do not come with an SD card. You require your own. You can keep the footage/data you collect during your rental, but please remove all your data before returning the equipment; we wipe internal storage as part of our bench check anyway.
No. UK mainland only. We also can't ship to shared accommodation, HMO addresses, or anywhere the courier can't get a signed handover. If your address falls into one of those categories, contact us about alternative arrangements — sometimes we can deliver to a nearby business address.
Yes. If you decide to buy the same model new from us, we'll credit the rental fee from your most recent hire against the purchase price. It's our "try before you buy" — and it's a real credit, not a discount voucher with strings attached.
