What multispectral imaging measures
Multispectral sensors capture light in bands beyond the visible spectrum — typically blue, green, red, red-edge and near-infrared. These bands are the foundation of vegetation indices like NDVI (Normalised Difference Vegetation Index) and NDRE (Red-Edge), which correlate strongly with chlorophyll content, biomass and plant stress.
Collected consistently across a growing season, multispectral data builds a picture of how crop health changes over time — enabling precise intervention rather than blanket treatment.
Crop health monitoring

DJI Mavic 3 Multispectral
The M3M integrates a 20 MP RGB camera and a five-band multispectral camera (Green, Red, Red-Edge, Near-Infrared + sunlight sensor) into a compact, foldable platform. At 100 m AGL with 80/70 overlap it covers 2 km² per hour — practical for commercial agronom work on fields of any scale.
The integrated DLS 2 sunlight sensor corrects for changing light conditions during the flight, ensuring radiometric consistency across the entire mosaic. Outputs are calibrated reflectance maps ready for index calculation — no manual calibration panel required in standard conditions.
