Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between DJI Dock 3 and DJI Dock 2?

DJI Dock 3 is an iterative upgrade of DJI Dock 2, with the following main upgrades compared to the previous generation:

1. IP rating upgraded to IP56.

2. Operating temperature range widened to -30° to 50° C (-22° to 122° F) .

3. Video transmission system upgraded to O4+ Enterprise.

4. Supports vehicle-mounted deployment.

5. With the D-RTK 3 Relay Fixed Deployment Version, site selection of DJI Dock 3 becomes more flexible.

6. Supports quick takeoff, ready to fly as soon as the cover is opened.

7. Lower live view latency for a smoother operation experience.

8. Improved cooling and heating performance of the air conditioner.

How many versions does the DJI Matrice 4D Series have? What are the differences between them?

The DJI Matrice 4D Series currently includes two versions - DJI Matrice 4D and DJI Matrice 4TD. Check out the table below to learn more about their key features.

What is the IP rating of the DJI Matrice 4D Series drones?

The DJI Matrice 4D Series drones have an IP55 rating.

Do cameras on DJI Matrice 4D Series support mapping without GCPs?

Only the 4/3 CMOS wide-angle camera on DJI Matrice 4D supports mapping without GCPs.

What precautions should be taken when using the infrared thermal camera of DJI Matrice 4TD?

DO NOT expose the infrared camera lenses to strong sources of energy such as the sun, lava, or a laser beam. Otherwise, the camera sensor may be burned leading to permanent damage.

What is the difference between the DJI Matrice 4D Series and the Matrice 4 Series?

The DJI Matrice 4D Series has the following main differences compared to the Matrice 4 Series:

1. Supports IP55 protection rating.

2. Maximum flight time of 54 minutes.

3. Supports greater payload capacity.

4. Supports airborne relay, where one drone can fly high as a relay, addressing signal issues in mountainous terrains.

5. Arms of Matrice 4D Series drones are not foldable.

Why can the arms of the DJI Matrice 4D series be moved, and why are there visible gaps at the base of the arms?

The DJI Matrice 4D Series drones incorporate rotational dampers at the base of each arm to dampen arm vibration, ensuring reliable, long-time flight in various environments. The arms can rotate at a small angle, and visible gaps at the base of the arms are normal design characteristics.

Why are the propeller tips of the DJI Matrice 4D Series drones curved?

To provide better noise reduction.

What precautions should be taken when using the anti-ice propellers of the DJI Matrice 4D Series drones?

The anti-icing effectiveness of the propellers decreases with usage over time. Please replace the propellers at least every 12 months or after 500 flight hours. Do not scratch the surface of the propellers or touch them directly with your fingers. Do not use oil-based or alcohol-based solvents to wipe the propellers, as this may damage the anti-icing layer on the surface. Each set of propellers is dynamically balanced. When replacing propellers, please use the propellers from the same package and do not mix them with propellers from other packages. If the propellers become deformed or damaged during use, they need to be replaced promptly. When replacing propellers, be sure to simultaneously replace the corresponding washers and screws. Do not reuse them.
