What vegetation indexes does the DJI Mavic 3 Multispectral support?⌄
The multispectral camera on the DJI Mavic 3 Multispectral supports the NDVI, GNDVI, and NDRE vegetation indexes to provide farmers with vital information.
• NDVI: Makes it possible to detect plants under stress, differentiate between crops, and determine at which stage they are in their growing cycle.
• NDRE: Provides insights on chlorophyll content in leaves.
• GNDVI: Useful for estimating photosynthetic activity, as well as water and nitrogen content in the plant canopy.
Is DJI Mavic 3M waterproof?⌄
No, DJI Mavic 3 Multispectral is not waterproof.
Does DJI Mavic 3 Multispectral support Cloud API and MSDK? ⌄
Yes, DJI Mavic 3 Multispectral supports Cloud API and MSDK.
• Cloud API: The Mavic 3 Multispectral can be directly connected to a third-party cloud platform via Pilot 2's built-in DJI Cloud API based on the MQTT protocol. There is no need to develop an app separately to enable the transmission of UAV equipment information, live streaming, photo data, and other information.
• MSDK: The Mavic 3 Multispectral supports Mobile SDK 5 (MSDK5) with a fully open-source production code sample. The MSDK5 makes it possible to develop a proprietary control app for UAV field patrol, smart surveying, and other scenarios, making it more user-friendly.
Are the locations of photos taken by DJI Mavic 3 Multispectral time synced?⌄
Yes, all five cameras on the DJI Mavic 3 Multispectral are time synchronised.
What should I be aware of when using the DJI Mavic 3 Multispectral’s sunlight sensor?⌄
You should avoid blocking the sunlight sensor when it is in use. For example, the vegetation indices, such as NDVI, cannot be obtained when it is blocked. In addition, you should avoid rubbing the sensor, since its performance will be affected if the surface is scratched.
What is the impact of not having the blue band for DJI Mavic 3 Multispectral?⌄
The monitoring of most crops and vegetation relies mainly on near-infrared, red edge, red and green bands. For example, the NDVI, NDRE and GNDVI indices, commonly used for crop health monitoring, only use two to three of these four bands. Therefore, the absence of the blue band will have minimal impact on applications such as monitoring of crop growth and environments, as well as natural resource investigations.
How many cameras does DJI Mavic 3 Multispectral have? What are the wavelengths for the multispectral cameras?⌄
DJI Mavic 3 Multispectral features four 5.5MP single-band cameras and one 20MP RGB camera. The single-band cameras are as follows: Green (G) 550 nm ± 16 nm, red (R): 650 nm ± 16 nm, Red edge (RE): 730 nm ± 16 nm, and Near-infrared (NIR): 860 nm ± 26 nm.
