Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the thermal sensor on the DJI Mavic 3 Thermal Advanced and Mavic 3 Thermal?⌄
The DJI Mavic 3 Thermal Advanced features a superior thermal camera, providing enhanced infrared imaging.
When at the same 640 x 512 resolution, the M3TA offers more accurate temperature measurements, clearer views at the same distance, and greater range at the same clarity.
| Thermal camera | M3TA | M3T |
|---|---|---|
| Pixel pitch | 8µm | 12µm |
| DFOV | 41.2° | 61° |
| 35mm equivalent focal length | 60mm | 40mm |
| iFOV | 0.88 mrad | 1.29 mrad |
How many versions of the DJI Mavic 3 Thermal Advanced are there?⌄
There are two versions of the DJI Mavic 3 Thermal Advanced. DJI Mavic 3 Thermal Advanced (Universal Edition): Normal battery and propellers, not C1 or C2 class-marked. DJI Mavic 3 Thermal Advanced EU-C1 version: C1 version of battery + low-noise propellers. Sub 900g and is C1 class-marked. The key differences are outlined below: DJI Mavic 3 Thermal Advanced DJI Mavic 3 Thermal Advanced EU-C1 Weight 920g 870g Max take-off weight 1,050g 899g Max flight time 45 mins 36 mins Battery DJI Mavic 3 Series Intelligent Flight Battery DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise Series Battery (EU C1 Version) Propellers DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise Series Propellers DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise Series Low-Noise Propellers Class mark None C1 For Open Category operations in the UK, currently, both the Mavic 3 Thermal Advanced and the Mavic 3 Thermal Advanced EU-C1 can be flown in the A2 subcategory (close to people) with an A2 CofC, or in the A3 subcategory (far from people) without an A2 CofC. However, from the start of 2026, when the UK CAA recognises EU class markings, the Mavic 3 Enterprise EU-C1 can be flown in the Open Category's A1 subcategory, conducting flights over people: Thus giving operators more freedom. Please note: A Mavic 3 Enterprise Series drone without a C1 mark cannot be considered C1-compliant if used with an EU-C1 version battery.

Does the DJI Mavic 3 Thermal Advanced have European C1 certification?⌄
Yes, the DJI Mavic 3 Thermal Advanced EU-C1 version comes with C1 certification. To ensure C1 compliance, please use the EU-C1 version of the Intelligent Flight Battery and Low-noise propellers.
The thermal pixel pitch of M3TA is reduced compared with M3T. How does this impact data quality?⌄
The DJI Mavic 3 Thermal Advanced has better spatial resolution (smaller iFOV), which allows the thermal camera to obtain better details at the same distance.
