Outstanding training course with a ton of time spent ‘hands on’ with the kit and equipment. Brilliant instruction from Andrew Peacock covering legislation, inspection and maintenance, updates and calibration and practical as well as technical information. Highly recommended, especially if you’re working with DJI Enterprise/Matrice aircraft.

Recently attended the basic drone maintenance & CPD course (2 days) with instructors Andrew & Ody. Course was great and certainly picked up on the fact that these guys enjoy their job!. I gained a better understanding on drone maintenance, calibration of the sensors & safer operational techniques that will be implemented on my UAV operations moving forth. .

A great course, presented very well by Tom. The whole day was informative with plenty of great discussions and knowledge sharing across different sectors. Heliguy again demonstrated how they go above and beyond with Andrew noticing there was a degraded part on my drone. He swiftly arranged for the technical team to renew the part which elevated my respect for Heliguy and those who represent it even further. Thanks again Tom, Andrew and the Heliguy team!

Why is it important to take the Drone Maintenance Training Course?

Drone maintenance is a crucial factor when it comes to conducting responsible and compliant operations under PDRA-01. It is essential for the following reasons:

• Safety Assurance: Regular and proper maintenance ensures that drones remain in good working condition. This reduces the risk of in-flight failures, which is essential for operating safely in populated or sensitive areas as allowed under PDRA-01.

• Airworthiness Compliance: PDRA-01 requires operators to ensure that drones are airworthy - meaning all components function as intended. Demonstrating a solid maintenance regime helps prove that the aircraft is kept in a fit-for-flight state.

• Operational Procedures: A clear maintenance plan is typically part of the Operations Manual, which is required under PDRA-01. The UK CAA expects to see how maintenance is tracked, scheduled, and logged.

• Traceability and Accountability: Proper maintenance records provide a trail of accountability. If an incident occurs, being able to show a maintenance log proves the operator took reasonable steps to prevent technical failure.

• Preventative Action: Understanding maintenance allows operators to identify wear and tear or software issues before they escalate into safety risks. This proactive approach aligns with the risk-based framework of PDRA-01.

Do I need to bring a drone to the Drone Maintenance Course?
