How do I become an accredited fixed-wing drone pilot?⌄
The heliguy™ fixed-wing drone training course is a bolt-on to our standard GVC course.
Complete both the standard GVC and fixed-wing theory learning through our online training platform, and then sit the GVC theory exam remotely.
This will be followed by a practical flight test with a fixed-wing aircraft at our Newcastle training venue, and the completion of an Operations Manual.
After obtaining your fixed-wing GVC, apply to the CAA for an Operational Authorisation. heliguy™ also has an in-house UK SORA consultancy to help you prepare for more bespoke operations.
How long does my GVC for fixed-wing last for?⌄
The fixed-wing GVC is valid for 5 years before it needs to be renewed.
What happens if I fail the GVC exam/flight assessment?⌄
heliguy™ offers free resits. If you have not completed your practical flight assessment/Operations Manual within a year of passing your exam, you will be required to re-do the exam.
Do I need any experience with fixed-wing drones before attending the course?⌄
No. Whether you have experience or not - our drone training school helps take you from novice to fully-competent fixed-wing drone pilot, regardless of any existing fixed-wing drone experience.
Our curriculum is well-paced to ensure that those more recently entering the industry can get up to speed, while experienced pilots will still be getting value at every stage.
