What do I need to book a rental?

Insurance
Insure your rental under a hired-in (non-owned) equipment policy. We’ll need a certificate before your kit ships.
Flyer ID
Hold a valid CAA Flyer ID, plus an Operator ID covering the category of aircraft you’re hiring.
Proof of ID
After checkout, send a copy of your passport or driving licence so we can verify the booking.

How do I return my heliguy™ rental?⌄
A courier will be sent to collect the rental package from the delivery address on the final day of your rental - you should have the rental package ready to hand over to the courier when they arrive. The courier will contact you when they arrive to collect the parcel. If you need to change the collection address from somewhere different than the delivery address, we must be informed 24 hours before to arrange this.
What can I hire from heliguy™ drone rental?⌄
heliguy™ drone rental enables you to hire drones, payloads, and a range of ancillaries and accessories. Our drone rental combos include accessories as standard, but you can bolt-on additional items to create a bespoke package for your requirements. A range of accessories, including payloads, controllers, and base stations, can be hired individually.
Are there any limitations applied to heliguy™ rentals?⌄
heliguy™ cannot ship rental packages outside of the UK, or to shared accommodation or accommodation with shared entrances. If this describes your circumstances, please contact us to discuss alternative arrangements.
How long is the heliguy™ rental period?⌄
heliguy™ drone rental is available for a minimum of one week. You can hire the equipment for longer than this, depending on our availability and your requirements.
Is insurance included in the price of a rental?⌄
No - You will need to provide your own valid insurance policy that covers hired in goods and specifies drones. Providers like Coverdrone can offer you this kind of cover. As part of the insurance policy process, all rental equipment must be insured under a Non-Owned Electronic Equipment or Rented Goods section to ensure we can dispatch the equipment as quickly as possible. You also need to factor loss of hire costs in the event that heliguy™ is unable to hire out the equipment to other clients as a result of damage caused.
Do I need to pay a deposit when I rent from Heliguy?⌄
Yes, you do. A £99 deposit is required on all drone rentals. This will be refunded upon return of your drone rental.
What documents do I require to rent from heliguy™?⌄
We strive to make the rental process as easy and streamlined as possible. But, we do require some documents from you. If you are renting a drone from us, you will need to upload a copy of your drone insurance, a Flyer ID, and relevant training documentation. You will need to provide a copy of your passport or driving licence to confirm your identity, and a recent utility bill or bank statement which matches the shipment address. Flyer ID and drone training documentation are not required if you are hiring equipment that is not a drone. All documents are stored securely, and not distributed to third-party companies, in line with Cyber Essentials.
