Buying guide · Which Mini
DJI Mini 5 Pro or Mini 4 Pro?
Both fold to phone size, weigh under 250 g and skip UK operator-registration for recreational flying. The Mini 5 Pro is the flagship with a larger 1" sensor and OcuSync 4; the Mini 4 Pro is the value pick with omnidirectional obstacle sensing.
The best-imaging Mini — a 1" sensor for low light and OcuSync 4 for a longer, steadier link. The one to buy for quality.
The value flagship — omnidirectional obstacle sensing and the same sub-250 g convenience at a sharper price.

The system around the Mini
Batteries, filters, controllers and cases — the kit both generations share.
Batteries & charging
Spare intelligent flight batteries and two-way charging hubs extend flying time past a single pack.
Power & charging →ND filters
ND sets control bright light for cinematic motion blur and cleaner exposure in daylight.
Filters →Controllers
The RC-N series uses your phone; the RC 2 and RC Pro 2 add bright built-in screens and longer control range.
Controllers →Cases
Hard cases protect the Fly More kit in transit — worth it for a drone made to travel.
Cases & bags →DJI Mini drones — common questions
Mini 5 Pro or Mini 4 Pro — which should I buy?
Buy the Mini 5 Pro for the best image quality — its larger 1" sensor pulls ahead in low light. Choose the Mini 4 Pro to save money while keeping omnidirectional obstacle sensing and the same sub-250 g convenience.
Do I need to register a sub-250 g drone in the UK?
You don’t need a Flyer ID for a sub-250 g drone with no camera, but any camera drone flown outdoors needs an Operator ID from the CAA. Both Minis have cameras, so you’ll register as an operator.
Which combo — drone only or Fly More?
The Fly More Combo adds extra batteries, a charging hub and usually a bag. If you’ll fly for more than ~30 minutes at a time it pays for itself against buying batteries separately.
RC-N2, RC 2 or RC Pro 2?
The RC-N controllers use your phone as the screen (cheapest). The RC 2 and RC Pro 2 have their own bright screens — no phone, quicker launch and longer range.
Can I add crash cover?
Yes — DJI Care Refresh and our Repair Refresh both cover the current Minis.
