Drone surveying
Survey-grade geospatial data from the air. heliguy delivers end-to-end drone surveying — from mission planning and payload selection through to flight operations and processed deliverables — for construction, infrastructure and land survey teams across the UK.
What drone surveying covers
Drone surveying has moved well beyond basic aerial photography. Modern survey drones carry payloads that collect the same data as ground-based total stations and laser scanners — at a fraction of the access risk, time on site, and cost per hectare.
Photogrammetry
Overlapping aerial images processed into orthomosaics, 3D point clouds and surface models. Centimetre-level accuracy with RTK/PPK positioning.
LiDAR scanning
Laser-based point cloud capture through vegetation and along complex structures — accurate where cameras alone can't reach the ground.
Multispectral imaging
Beyond visible light — spectral indices like NDVI and NDRE reveal crop stress, biomass variation and environmental change.
GNSS / RTK positioning
Survey-grade accuracy starts on the ground. Emlid RTK base stations and rovers for GCP-free PPK workflows and precise georeferencing.
End-to-end capability
Most survey teams come to heliguy for equipment — and stay because of the surrounding support. We offer training tailored to survey workflows, technical guidance on payload selection and processing software, and operational support for teams building an in-house drone survey capability.
We work with the platforms surveyors actually use: DJI Matrice + Zenmuse P1 and L2, DJI Terra, Pix4D, RealityCapture and Esri Site Scan. Whether you need a single payload or a complete managed solution, we can scope it.
